We all have some form of ego.... a sense of self if you will.
Ego is not a useful tool, it can humiliate, confuse and hurt you if you allow it to lead you in life, lead your expectations of entitlement.
If you listen to the lip service and believe the falsities people speak just to take advantage or mislead you. You believe you are capable of things you are not, or you have an inflated opinion of yourself.... The universe will remind you to be humble sending you a lesson.
Whether it's well meaning "I'm sure you'd get a yes if you asked that person out"... Being polite and trying not to hurt your feelings... Or fasicious "why don't you apply for that promotion everyone knows you're great" and maybe they applying for same job and want to control the competition.
Mine today was thinking I was the same level of priority to a friend as they are to me. High.
I felt sure I would be chosen over xyz. That I would be the 1st or 2nd person they'd tell their news to or want to hang out with.
That's on me. My fault. Not once have they ever told me or put me in the priority line I'm claiming to be entitled to. They have no malice in choosing someone else to share things with.
Got me thinking.... If we are to quieten ego, how do we gauge our effectiveness.. Our suitability for things? Be humble and confident in oneself? without being... Insecure
