No not the band...
The placebo effect.
We've all heard of it. Medical trials, scams or fake supplements, faith, crystals, herbals, shamans, healers.
So say placebo is just that.
All in our mind. Isn't "real". No scientific evidence to prove or disprove something works.
Does that detract from it effect?
Should it detract from its effect?
Or is it more heriditary and primative and..... Of our makeup.. To have it?
100s of years of witchcraft and shamans and faith and holistic traditions...some of which have had a scientifically proven positive impact that cannot be clearly defined other than "fluke".
I saw a documentary about a young man with brain damage... No activity.. Specialist's were counselling his family to turn of his life support. But they doggedly believes their prayers to God would save the man. Who test after test was effectively brain dead.
That young man came out his coma, and even more he was able to walk talk and lead a semi normal independent life. Did God save him?
As a non believer I found it hard to accept that. That the science was more evidential and proven. But the doctors had no way to explain it. No brain activity test after test doesn't just restart itself.
So. Where is the harm?
Just because someone can't comprehend how you feel after healing, meditation, prayers crystal therapy doesn't detract from the fact your mind is healing your body and soul
And that is completely proven
