Does covet = envy/jealous? Or is it without malice?
Why do we covet attributes in others. Their confidence, their thick hair, their bone structure, their ability at sports, art, music. How they seem to draw friends or good luck. Is it jealousy?
I think for me, I covet attributes in others I wish I had. Mostly personality traits... Now and then bone structure. :-)
I subconscious find myself dating people "opposite to me". But sadly not in an opposites attract deal. I admire their assertiveness, confidence, high self esteem, self assured cockyness... That they are active fit people (just lucky genes not through hard work)
But it's not a swap as my good attributes like kindness patience and loyalty are traits they don't have. Yet I'm drawn in... Starstruck... And for the most part.. Let down in the end.
It only recently dawned on me that the person I adored was a text book narcissist with a penchant for gas lighting.... 2 things I wasn't previously knowledgeable about.... The terms.. not that they were one
Covetting comes from personal insecurities.. And was used against me
